Also for the Deal Museum we designed a A Stroll Along Middle Street, a guide to Deal's historic street that runs between the seafront and the town's High Street. It was once inhabited by fishermen, carpenters and smugglers during Deal's haydays as an anchorage for sailing vessels.
Photographs were provided by Harold Chapman, Dom Davies and Kathryn Reilly.

The Warfleet Chronicles, published October 2026 by Mot Juste for the Deal Museum, is a collection of short stories set in a fictitious Kent coastal town, by Carole Hayman.
Carol has published many comic and satirical novels and written radio and TV series for the BBC, ITV and Channel Four. She is also an opera creator and librettist.
Carol lives in Deal and supports the Deal Museum. Proceeds of this book help maintain the Museum's running cost.
Peter Erftemeijer designed the book. The cover illustration is by Anthony Matthews, currently residing on the other side of the Channel in Calais.
The semaphore flags on the cover spell 'DFL OUT', the last sentence in one of the stories, where 'DFL' stands for 'Down From Londoners', the term for those who have escaped the big city!
